Faire Corps

Workshop, 1hour + Live performance, 30 minutes.
‘Faire Corps' is a piece I began developing as part of my year-long residency at Space Clarence Mews. With this work I am exploring the way in which previously made work merges with live performance. The collection of drawings is part of the set, bouncing off the movement to continue to take shape on the paper on which I trace; the sound piece with the heartbeat reverberates in my chest to emerge as sound through my mouth; my body is the receptacle for this inner/outer conversation and moulds itself to fit the flow, the shape, the core.
The piece begins with a one-hour workshop, based on the structure of my previous workshop 'Building Palimpsest Bodies', except that this time my drawings and canvases surround the participants.
The idea was to see if the visual environment could influence a somatically oriented workshop with movement and drawing/marking.
